Name: Sokka
Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Age: 15
Appearance: Sokka is of average height and build, with brown hair and blue/grey eyes. He keeps the top section of his hair in a high ponytail and the rest is cut very short, still growing in from when he kept it shaved.
Personality: Sokka is cynical, skeptical, and sharp. Despite almost constantly complaining about things, he has a generally up-beat attitude when faced with an actual challenge. Sokka is brave and inventive and fiercely loyal. He’s a good strategist, if a crappy leader, and always has a plan. Even if it’s an impossible or even silly plan. He’s very smart but rather rash and prideful.
Sokka is also quite energetic about everything he does (except getting up in the morning). He can be rather silly and over-eager at times and uses his sarcasm to crack jokes and keep the mood of the group light. He is also very creative and curious; he likes to invent things. He also gets positively giddy at the prospect of going shopping.
History: Sokka lived with his sister Katara in the Southern Water Tribe until he was 15. At age 9 his mother died and shortly there-after his father left with the warriors of the tribe to fight the Fire Nation. Sokka was left at the ‘man of the house’ and took that responsibility, and the defense of the tribe, very seriously. When Katara discovered the Avatar in a block of ice and freed him, he was mistrustful of the newcomer. Later, when Katara insisted on traveling with Aang, Sokka went with them. Their quest to help Aang defeat the Fire Nation was also personal for him (Fire Nation killed his mother) and they traveled to the Northern Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, and everywhere in between doing lots of filler episodes.
Shortly before arriving in Payatt, Sokka devised a plan to take advantage of a solar eclipse and invade the Fire Nation while they were weak. The Fire Lord was tipped off, however, and the attack failed. After regrouping, they decided that Aang would continue his firebending training and take on the Fire Lord at a later date.
Skills/Powers: While Sokka does not have any supernatural skills, he is proficient in a number of weapons including the boomerang and the sword. He is good at making plans and gathering intelligence as well as things like reading maps or creating charts. He’s intelligent, creative, and inventive. He’s ambidextrous.
Items: Sokka carries a number of weapons with him, but arrives in Payatt with his ever-trusty boomerang and his meteorite sword.
